Eleven teams from the fields of film, TV, games, VR, social media, and content marketing have been selected by Mediengründerzentrum NRW as the 2025 scholarship holders and have now been officially presented. A year of support awaits them.

For years, the Mediengründerzentrum NRW (Media Start-Up Centre NRW) has supported young companies in film, TV, and streaming, as well as in games, TV and technology, social media, content marketing, agencies, and creative services, through a dedicated support programme. Over the course of one year, the selected teams receive a financial grant of €12,000 and, more importantly, benefit from workshops, seminars, coaching, mentoring, networking, and collaboration opportunities.

"Thanks to our sponsors—the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, and the City of Cologne—we are able to make targeted investments in talent and growth, even in challenging times. The Mediengründerzentrum NRW is a key point of contact for creative founders shaping the media industry of tomorrow. Strong support for young talent not only fosters innovation at a regional level but also secures the future of the entire industry," emphasises Rainer Weiland, Managing Director of Mediengründerzentrum NRW.

Among the eleven scholarship holders presented by MGZ, there is also a dedicated games studio, 6side Studio, as well as Cylvester, an XR production house.

"This is where the future is created. We support companies that are already enriching the state's media landscape today and will shape it even more in the future. Our role is to provide targeted support to talented individuals because we know that without courageous founders, there will be no innovation," says Weiland.
