Die First-Party-Entwickler der ehemaligen Microsoft Studios agieren ab sofort unter dem neuen Namen Xbox Game Studios. Auf diese Weise möchte sich das Unternehmen als Gaming-Brand etablieren, die nicht an bestimmte Endgeräte gebunden ist.

Microsoft bündelt seine Entwicklerfamilie unter einem neuen Namen. Ab sofort agieren die First-Party-Entwickler des Unternehmens, die bisher als Microsoft Studios bekannt waren, unter dem Namen Xbox Game Studios. Darunter fallen, nach dem Kaufrausch, dem sich das Unternehmen im letzten Jahr hingab, mittlerweile 13 Studios: 343 Industries, The Coalition, Compulsion Games, The Initiative, inXile Entertainment, Mojang, Ninja Theory, Obsidian Entertainment, Playground Game, Rare, Turn 10 Studios, Undead Labs, Microsoft Casual Games. Mit diesem Schritt möchte sich das Unternehmen weiter als Gaming-Brand positionieren, die sämtliche Endgeräte umfasst.

Veröffentlicht wurde der Rebrand in der ersten "Inside Xbox"-Folge des Jahres 2019.
