Midway Games hat im Zuge seiner Strategie die internen Entwicklungsressourcen auszubauen, den australischen Entwickler Ratbag übernommen. Dieser wird nun in Midway Studios Australia umbenannt.

Midway Games ist weiter auf Expansionskurs. Der US-Publisher hat Ratbag übernommen, einen australischen Entwickler der unter anderem auf Rennspiele spezialisiert ist. Die Transaktion, die durch Midway-Aktien vollzogen wurde, hat ein Volumen von knapp sechs Mio. Dollar. Laut David F. Zucker, President und CEO von Midway, stehe der Kauf in Einklang mit der Midway-Strategie, die internen Entwicklungsressourcen zu erweitern und damit die Fähigkeiten hochqualitative Produkte entwickeln zu können weiter zu verbessern. Ratbag arbeitet derzeit an mehreren nicht näher angekündigten Produkten für Midway für die aktuelle, aber auch die nächste Konsolengeneration.
