Mit iTV, Mobile Gaming und Online via Konsole stehen nach Prognosen von Forrester Research und Screen Digest die richtig fetten Jahre für die Unterhaltungsindustrie noch aus.

Messedirektorin Laurine Garaude fand für die Interactive Entertainment Industrie im Rahmen der 9. Milia nur positive Worte: "Während Geschäftsmodelle im Onlinebereich weiterhin unklar bleiben und die Implementierung von technischen Neuerungen nicht halb so schnell vorangeht als eigentlich geplant, bleibt die Industrie für interaktive Medien dynamisch und kreativ." Als Grundlage für diese These zog Garaude Zahlen von Forrester Research und Screen Digest heran. So bleibe Europa weiter Vorreiter für iTV: Bis 2005 würden rund 50 Prozent aller europäischen Haushalte Zugang zu iTV-Services haben. Ebenfalls bis 2005 soll zudem die Spielergemeinschaft für mobile Endgeräte weiter wachsen. Die Nutzerzahlen würden sich dann auf 130 Mio. belaufen. Screen Digest prognostizierte zudem, dass onlinefähige Konsolen den onlinefähigen PC noch im Jahr 2004 überrunden werden.
