Mimimi founder and Managing Director Johannes Roth is back in game development – with a solo adventure. Today, Roth has released Phazer 64, his entry for the N64BrewJam game jam, under the studio name Core Production.

“I didn't have that much fun for many, many years – I stopped working on games (as a dev) roughly around 2014-2015, as I had to focus on the business aspects of running a growing game studio (Mimimi Games), which we eventually had to close in 2023. Now, thanks to the N64, I have finally remembered how amazing it is to make games - myself. This jam was life-changing for me in ways I can hardly describe”, Roth said on LinkedIn. In 2023, he had announced the closure of Mimimi after the release of Shadow Gambit, which went on to be supported by Hooded Horse after that.

Will Roth be back in game development now? “The journey will continue”, he says.
