With a new headset in their Focus line, HTC Vive wants to further improve their product line for business and gaming use. The technical data is impressive, as is the price.

XR headset manufacturer HTC Vive has revealed its new headset Vive Focus Vision. It builds on the Vive Focus 3 platform and adds several new functionalities. Among them are:

  • Integrated eye-tracking and automatic IPD adjustment
  • DisplayPort mode for a visually lossless PCVR experience
  • Two 16 MP colour cameras for stereoscopic full colour display
  • Up to 120 degree viewing angle and 90 Hz refresh rate. Support for 120 Hz refresh rate via DisplayPort mode coming in late 2024
  • Combined 5k resolution for both eyes
  • Depth sensor for scene recognition
  • Infrared sensor for improved tracking in low light conditions

“Vive Focus Vision offers the best of both worlds with outstanding standalone capabilities and DisplayPort mode support for visually lossless PCVR experiences,” comments Shen Ye, Global Head of Product at HTC Vive. “PC gamers can now enjoy the same high-end headsets from home that are usually only used in VR arcades. With built-in eye-tracking, stereo colour pass-through cameras for depth-corrected mixed reality and an infrared sensor for improved hand tracking in low-light conditions, we're taking the experience to the next level.”

The Vive Focus Vision can be pre-ordered from 18 September to 17 October 2024, during which time buyers will receive a Vive Wired Streaming Kit for DisplayPort mode worth 189 euros as preorder bonus. Asking price for the headset 1,199 euros.
