The first NerdiCon in Leipzig had its share of challenges before it began, with a sudden venue change and a very spontaneous schedule announcement. Nevertheless, over 700 people attended the first event, with 160 showing up to the adjunct conference format at the MacroMedia.

The NerdiCon event took place in Leipzig for the first time from 19 to 21 September. And even tough the schedule had been very published very close to the event and the venue had to change unexpectedly, according to the organisers, it has been quite successful: with a total of over 700 visitors over the three days of the event. An additional 160 guests attended the two-day conference format at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Leipzig.

In their press release, the organisers openly deal openly with the problems caused by the short preparation time. They say that the late publication of the programme and the last-minute change of location to Macromedia may have contributed to a lower number of visitors.

NerdiCon is a collaboration between Nerdic GmbH, R42 (Gecko Two GmbH) and Macromedia professor Marcus Klöppel, who is also part of the organisation team of the Long Night of Computer Games in Leipzig.
