NBG Distribution Renamed as CentreSoft GmbH
After 36 years, German games distributor NBG has a new name. NBG will now operate under the brand name of its parent company, CentreSoft GmbH.
Apart from the name change, nothing else will change at the long-established distribution company, which is managed by Thomas Schütterle as Managing Director and Michael Schulte-Kellinghaus as Sales Director GSA. It will continue to embody the values of quality, reliability, and personal commitment. However, the new branding also symbolizes a new beginning. The aim is to focus even more strongly on European cooperation with trading partners.
This step is also indirectly a consequence of Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard. Both CentreSoft and NBG have been part of Activision since 1997, even though they have remained separate brands throughout these years. In mid-2024, CentreSoft CEO David Neal purchased the company, which also included NBG, from Activision as part of a management buyout.
Strategically, it makes perfect sense for CentreSoft to present a unified front in Europe in the future. General market developments are currently causing shifts in the European distribution business, both in the physical and digital distribution of games.
