Microsoft Launches Xbox Game Pass Standard
The new Game Pass Standard is positioned between Game Pass Core and Game Pass Ultimate on Xbox consoles. For 12.99 Euros per month, subscribers get access to a wide range of games, but no longer to new Day One releases.
Microsoft is rolling out the changes to Xbox Game Pass that were announced in July with the launch of Game Pass Standard for consoles. This subscription plan includes access to "hundreds of games" in the catalogue, online console multiplayer, and deals, but no longer includes access to Day One Releases, which are games from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, id@xbox, and select third-party partners that will be included in Xbox Game Pass on launch day. These titles will be added later in this tier.
Game Pass Standard costs €12.99 per month, placing it between Game Pass Core (€6.99 per month) and Game Pass Ultimate (€17.99 per month). In the USA, the monthly subscription is $14.99.
This means that Day One releases for consoles will only be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the PC Game Pass. For example, the console version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will only be available on Day One (24 October 2024) to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers as well as on PC Game Pass.
