Microsoft is increasing the prices for Game Pass. The Game Pass for Console will be discontinued. The new Game Pass Standard has been introduced, but it will no longer include Day One Releases. An overview of all the changes to prices and structure.

Microsoft is changing its game subscription service. Game Pass Ultimate is getting more expensive. The monthly price will increase from €14.99 to €17.99 in Germany and Austria, and from CHF16.99 to CHF19.99 in Switzerland. Game Pass Core for twelve months will increase from €59.99 to €69.99, while the price in Switzerland will remain at CHF79. The PC Game Pass will also increase in price, with the monthly price rising from €9.99 to €11.99 and from CHF11.99 to CHF12.99. The international price list can be found here. The new prices for new membership subscriptions will apply from 10 July 2024. From 12 September 2024, the price of recurring subscriptions for existing members will change.

Game Pass for Console is no longer available to new customers. Codes will continue to be redeemable until further notice. From 18 September 2024, the maximum renewal period for Game Pass for Console will be 13 months. Members who have subscribed to Game Pass Console and have enabled automatic renewal will be able to continue their membership.

There will be a new Game Pass tier: Game Pass Standard. This subscription plan includes access to "hundreds of games" in the catalogue, online console multiplayer, and deals, but no longer includes access to Day One Releases, which are games from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, id@xbox, and select third-party partners that will be included in Xbox Game Pass on launch day. These titles will be added later in this tier. Game Pass Standard will launch later this year and will cost $14.99. Regional pricing for the new tier has not yet been announced. This means that Day One releases for consoles will only be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. PC Game Pass will still include access to Day One releases. For example, the console version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will only be available on Day One (24 October 2024) to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers (as well as on PC Game Pass). No other adjustments have been made to the terms and conditions of the respective options.

Last year, in June 2023, Microsoft raised the prices of Game Pass Ultimate from €12.99 to €14.99 and Game Pass Console from €9.99 to €10.99.
