Since its market launch in June 2025, Nintendo Switch 2 hardware sales have reached 17.37 million units. In the Christmas quarter (Q3), 7.01 million Switch 2 consoles were sold, compared to 4.54 million in Q2 and 5.82 million in Q1. The sales forecast for the entire fiscal year (until the end of March 2026) remains at a conservative 19 million, having been raised from 15 million in November.

From April to the end of December 2025, Nintendo Switch hardware sales totalled 3.25 million units, which is a 66 percent decrease from the previous year. With 155.37 million units sold, the Nintendo Switch is now the most successful Nintendo console of all time, surpassing the Nintendo DS, which sold 154.02 million units.

Software sales for the Nintendo Switch 2 reached 37.93 million units between April and the end of December 2025. Mario Kart World, coinciding with the launch of the hardware, recorded sales of 14.03 million units, including bundles. Donkey Kong Bananza, released in July, sold 4.25 million units, while Kirby Air Riders, released in November, sold 1.76 million. Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which was released in October, sold 3.89 million packaged copies. Sales of downloadable versions of this title and other Nintendo Switch 2 Edition titles are included in Nintendo Switch software sales. In this case (Pokémon Legends: Z-A), the total is 8.41 million units.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Galaxy, both released in October, sold 2.42 and 2.28 million units respectively. Nintendo: "Given that consumers can play both Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive software and Nintendo Switch software with Nintendo Switch 2, titles such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Party Jamboree, which were released for Nintendo Switch in previous fiscal years, have also shown stable sales". Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has now sold 70.59 million copies - just under 1.03 million more than at the end of September 2025. Nintendo Switch Sports has sold 17.84 million units; Super Mario Party Jamboree has sold 17.15 million; and Super Mario Party has sold 9.41 million. From April to the end of December 2025, Nintendo Switch software sales totalled 108.93 million units, which is a 12 percent decrease compared to the previous year.

In the nine months from April to the end of December 2025, overall sales totalled 1,905.8 billion yen (+99.3% YoY; ~€10.38 billion). Sales outside Japan accounted for 77.2% of this. Operating profit came to 300.3 billion yen (+21.3% YoY; ~€1.64 billion). Profit attributable to owners of the parent company totalled 358.8 billion yen (+51.3% YoY; ~€1.95 billion), including an extraordinary income of 32.6 billion yen from the sale of investment securities. The net profit ratio has seen a decline, dropping from 24.8% to 18.8%.

Nintendo plan to release Mario Tennis Fever in February and Pokémon Pokopia in March for Switch 2. "By continuously introducing these new titles while maintaining the momentum of released titles, we aim to expand the install base of the platform. As for Nintendo Switch, we will strive to leverage the hardware installed base and rich software library to further expand software sales, including evergreen titles, and maintain engagement", the company states.
