“You got the Power” is the theme of this year's Play – Creative Gaming Festival in Hamburg. The festival is happening from 11 to 16 November 2024. It’s going to be officially opened by Hamburg school senator Ksenija Bekeris on 11 November at the event venue Jupiter in Mönckebergstraße 2.

The festival is now looking for participants in the Speakers’ Corner. Speakers can register until 13 October for a 15 minute talk, hosted online or on site.

For the second time, adolescents aged between 14 and 21 from all over Germany are taking part in the festival organisation. The Young Play youth team helps prepare workshops, talks, cosplay meetups and other parts of the programme and curates its own exhibition.

Award Nominees include German and Austrian Titles

The Creative Gaming Festival is also giving away its own awards. Of the 150 works submitted from 41 countries, the following were nominated for the Creative Gaming Awards:

  • Oddada by Sven Ahlgrimm & Mathilde Hoffmann (Germany, 2024)
  • Passpartour 2 by Flambait Games (Sweden, 2023)
  • A Webbing Journey by Fire Totem Games (Austria, 2025)
  • Ecosystem by Slug Disco (Sweden, tba)
