Christoph Thomas Resigns From Hama Management
It is a turning point for the German accessories company hama. Christoph Thomas, grandson of the company's founder, is stepping down from active management. Christian Sokcevic is taking over his position as CEO.
From January 1, 2025, for the first time, there will be no member of the founding and owner family in active management. "I have been part of this company since 1987 and managing director since 1993. A company that has been not only my workplace but also an essential part of my life. As the grandson of the founders, it has been an honor to carry on the family legacy with my father, my uncle Rudolph and many other great people, and to lead it through all the challenges and successes of the last decades. But everything has its time, and the moment has come to hand over the reins to the next generation," explained Christoph Thomas.
The owners, however, have been preparing for this moment for a long time: two foundations were set up in 2015 to ensure the long-term survival of the Hama company and to focus on safeguarding jobs at the Monheim site.
And the course has also been set in management: on January 1, 2025, hama managing director Christian Sokcevic will take over as chairman of the management board. The previous authorized signatories Roland Handschiegel and Michael List are appointed as additional managing directors. The authorized signatories Maximilian Bartl and Thomas Kopp are also on the management committee and will remain part of the board until they retire in mid-2025.
Hama is a traditional manufacturer of entertainment electronics accessories that sells a comprehensive range. Although the company is best known for mobile, smart home, audio and hi-fi accessories, its range also includes classic PC accessories, some of which appeal to gamers, as well as a selection of console accessories.
