At the beginning of 2025, Meike Götz will take over the management of nordmedia - Film- und Mediengesellschaft Niedersachsen/Bremen. She will become the sole managing director of nordmedia, succeeding Thomas Schäffer, who has built up and managed the company since 2001. nordmedia also funds the development of games.

After 24 years as Managing Director of nordmedia - Film- und Mediengesellschaft Niedersachsen/Bremen, Thomas Schäffer will hand over to Meike Götz on 1 March 2025. She will then be the sole Managing Director. Since 2001, nordmedia has been a media funding organisation for Lower Saxony and Bremen. Funding is also provided for the development, distribution and marketing of games.

"I am delighted to be able to continue the work of Thomas Schäffer, who has built nordmedia into a modern and sustainable film and media funding organisation. The coming years will be marked by change: with the amendment of the Film Funding Act and the other important pillars of the film funding reform, we are in the midst of a fundamental, groundbreaking innovation process. Together with the nordmedia team, I would like to do my best to support the film and media industry in Lower Saxony and Bremen in the face of the rapid changes in the media industry and to contribute to the successful cultural and economic future of the region," says Meike Götz. She did not comment specifically on games funding.

She currently works as an editor in the 'Television Film, Series, Children' department at Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk. She brings with her expertise in the development, financing and distribution of film and television projects. Through her project management of various cinema and debut films, she also became a contact person for cinema and new talent projects. She began her career by studying film and television production at the Konrad Wolf Film University. She then worked as a junior producer at UFA in Potsdam before becoming a freelance producer for various production companies. Meike Götz is currently a member of the jury of the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM).
