To coincide with the recent release of the cozy life simulation game Pokémon Pokopia, The Pokémon Company International has announced the opening of the publicly accessible Pokopia Gardens. The Berlin Pokopia Garden has been open from 31 March to 30 June. Events will also take place in Paris and London.
In the game, players are tasked with rebuilding the world as a Pokémon paradise to lure the creatures back to the area. The Pokémon Company International aims to recreate this concept in real life by providing Pokémon-themed spaces in public areas for local communities. These spaces feature a curated selection of flora alongside elements inspired by the game's art style and familiar Pokémon characters, including 'living walls' and Pokémon-inspired terrariums. These spaces have been created in collaboration with local organisations and businesses, and will be open to the public for the next three months.
Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International, says the following about the design of the gardens: "In Pokémon Pokopia, players create a Pokémon paradise which everyone can live in. We wanted to bring some of that same feeling of growth and brightness to real world communities, creating a space that is full of Pokémon Pokopia's magic and open to all."
