Sony Computer Entertainment erweitert das Software Development Kit der PlayStation 3 Schritt für Schritt um viel versprechende Middleware-Tools.

Das Software Development Kit (SDK) für PlayStation-3-Spiele wird von Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) Schritt für Schritt um wichtige Middleware-Tools erweitert. Eine ganze Reihe neuer Verträge schloss der Konsolenhersteller dieser Tage ab. Der wichtigste ist die Übernahme des Middleware-Entwicklers SN Systems aus Bristol durch SCE. Bekannt für das "ProDG"-Tool, mit dessen Hilfe zahlreiche PlayStation-2-Spiele entwickelt wurden, wird SN Systems künftig exklusive Tools für PlayStation 3 produzieren. Weitere Vereinbarungen wurden mit Havok und AGEIA getroffen. So werden sowohl die "Havok"-Physik-Engine als auch die Physik-Software von AGEIA in das PS3-SDK integriert.
