Globally, mobile games generate more than 50% of gaming revenue. PC and console games are lagging behind, especially in markets with lower purchasing power, as a study by international associations confirmed just a few months ago. This makes it all the more surprising that the stars of one of the most successful genres on PC and consoles, shooters, are hardly to be found on mobile platforms. But that is changing increasingly.

Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Mobile is now available worldwide. The title was announced years ago. The launch was later postponed, before a soft launch took place in South America last year. Now, the tactical first-person shooter is being rolled out worldwide on iOS and Android. It will be interesting to see how the market receives the game.

Although PC and console shooters are among the top IPs of the major players, there are only a few successful adaptations in the current mobile gaming market. One reason for this used to be the technical limitations of mobile gaming, which necessitated compromises in quality. But those days are long gone.
