Gamescom With 15% More Exhibitors and Still Growing
With one week to go, Koelnmesse and game have given a final update on the preparations for gamescom. The number of exhibitors is already over 1400 and registrations are still coming in. The number of pavilions has increased by almost 50 percent.
Even before the opening of this year's gamescom, one thing is clear: the trade fair is growing and will set a new record this year. As the organisers from Koelnmesse and game announced at their traditional press conference one week before the start of gamescom, more than 1400 companies have registered as exhibitors. This is already 15 percent more than last year, when 1227 exhibitors were counted. As in the past, additional registrations have been received in the last few days, especially via the pavilions, a further increase in the number of exhibitors is expected. Koelnmesse will publish the final number of exhibitors in its final press release for gamescom 2024.
Speaking of pavilions: the number of pavilions has also increased significantly by almost 50 percent compared to last year. There will be a total of 48 pavilions from 37 countries at gamescom. In 2023 there were 33 pavilions from 26 countries. New country pavilions include Bulgaria, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Portugal and Sweden.
"The world's largest gaming event continues to grow. We are delighted to be able to announce these outstanding figures just one week before gamescom kicks off. Together with our partners and co-organizer game - The German Games Industry Association, we are also implementing great innovations that contribute to the diversity and attractiveness of gamescom." says Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse.
Felix Falk, Managing Director of game, says: "The omens could hardly be better just a few days before the start of gamescom 2024: Whether it's the record number of exhibitors, the exciting gamescom Opening Night Live program or new formats like the social stage, it's clear that the community can expect a games festival like no other this year. The anticipation for the world's biggest gaming event is huge - both on site in Cologne and digitally around the world."
