Farming Simulator 25 Released by Giants Software
The latest instalment of one of the most successful gaming franchises in the German-speaking region, Farming Simulator 25 from Swiss developer Giants Software, is being released today. The franchise has now sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
Farming Simulator 25 is available now for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. "For experienced farmers, the game marks the next step in playfully living their Passion", says Christian Ammann, CEO of publisher and developer Giants Software. "For everyone else, it’s a relaxing, immersive, and community-oriented opportunity to grow a new hobby, cultivate exciting knowledge, and ultimately harvest the rewarding feeling of freedom and accomplishment." The retail editions are distributed by astragon Entertainment. The two companies are continuing their successful partnership.
The Steam version was released at 14:00, and within 50 minutes of launch over 44,000 players were counted simultaneously. FS22's CCU peak was 105,636, also at launch. Since Giants Software also sells Farming Simulator 25 directly to consumers on their own platform. The boxed PC versions do not include a Steam key, but a key for their own distribution platform.
With three environments in North America, Europe and East Asia, 25 field crops, plus many greenhouse crops and trees, and several types of animals, each farmer can choose their starting point - solo or in co-operative multiplayer. More than 400 machines from over 150 international brands such as Case IH, Claas, Fendt, John Deere, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, New Holland and Valtra are available. Other new features include ground deformation, weather events and general improvements to the graphics and physics.
Giants Software: "Increased accessibility through improved user interfaces, information, and tutoring non-player characters make the family-friendly series even more welcoming for beginners. The new GPS-based steering assistant as well as reworked and improved AI-workers allow additional help and automation on busy fields. (...) Whether focusing on arable farming, animal husbandry, or forestry, the dream of farming can be achieved with a small farm and a few lovely farm shops to sell goods, or by growing it into an empire: With production chains, factories, construction projects, and even community monuments like temple grounds or a grain elevator museum, providing long-term goals and endless activities for the farmer's ambitions."
Giants Software is a Swiss video game developer and publisher with offices in Switzerland (Zurich), Germany (Erlangen), USA (Chicago) and Czech Republic (Brno), founded in 2004 and best known for the Farming Simulator series. The series has since been released on all major platforms including consoles, mobile phones, tablets and PCs. From the beginning, Giants Software has enabled users to create mods using the company's proprietary Giants Engine. And in 2019, the Farming Simulator League (FSL) was launched, a competitive esports mode in which teams compete in professional tournaments.
