Gamescom Asia Joins Forces with Thailand Game Show
After four successful years in Singapore, gamescom asia is moving to Thailand in 2025 and merging with the Thailand Game Show. Although the latter had fewer exhibitors and was less international, it attracted more than four times as many visitors.
gamescom thrives on its unique combination of a consumer show and a B2B trade fair, bringing together all facets of gaming in one place. Koelnmesse and game aim to replicate this success with their international editions and are now taking the next step with gamescom asia. After four highly successful years in Singapore, gamescom asia will relocate to Bangkok, Thailand, in 2025, where it will merge with the Thailand Game Show, the region's largest B2C trade fair. gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show will take place at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand, from 16 to 19 October 2025.
"This partnership is a game-changer for the region's games industry. gamescom asia's success has been built on a solid foundation in Singapore, where it has flourished since its inception in 2021, positioning Southeast Asia as a hub for gaming innovation. By joining forces with Thailand Game Show, we are unlocking unprecedented opportunities to connect global video game players with one of the world's most vibrant and passionate gaming communities," said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and VP of Asia Pacific at Koelnmesse Pte Ltd.
And Pongsuk Hiranprueck, Founder, Thailand Game Show, adds: "This historic collaboration presents tremendous opportunities for gamers and developers in Thailand, marking a significant leap forward for our gaming industry. With strong governmental support and cooperation, we are solidifying Thailand's position as a premier gaming hub in the Asian region."
In fact, the combination of the two events is a great opportunity for everyone involved. The fourth edition of gamescom asia in Singapore attracted 177 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors from 78 countries. The Thailand Game Show in 2002 had only 50 exhibitors, but 185,000 visitors. The figures show the respective strengths of gamescom asia as an established business platform and the Thailand Game Show as a consumer trade fair.
"With its home in Germany and satellites in Asia and South America gamescom has become the biggest global event brand of the games industry. Joining forces between gamescom asia and Thailand Game Show will take the event to the next level and offer the community a more extensive programme. Thank you to the teams on both sides and also to our governmental partners in Thailand for making this possible," said Felix Falk, Managing Director of game – The German Games Industry Association, Co-host and brand owner of gamescom.
