In total, Medienförderung RLP (Rhineland-Palatinate) approved €658,899 in the current, ninth funding round. This will benefit a total of 30 projects. Twenty-one of these are in the field of audiovisual media, three are supported as part of a scholarship program, and the remaining six projects are games. With €193,204, they receive around one-third of the funding, which was decided independently by two juries for the first time.
“It's the mix that makes it work. Our two newly appointed juries have demonstrated tact and expertise. Regional talents are given opportunities, while at the same time we support established creators and their projects on their growth path and set thematic and regional priorities,” emphasizes Verena Schmidt, Managing Director of Medienförderung Rheinland-Pfalz.
Heika Raab, State Secretary and Representative of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate to the Federal Government for Europe and Media, adds: "With the increase in funding by the state to €500,000 in 2025, we are sending a clear signal: Rhineland-Palatinate continues to strengthen its targeted investments in modern media formats and the media location. This strengthens the creative industry and opens up innovative narrative paths. The funded projects illustrate how media connects people, stimulates discourse, and brings democratic values to life."
Applications for the next funding session can be submitted from January 7 to April 17. Submissions via the website are only possible after an initial consultation has taken place.
