In a mail that was send out to PlayStation developers through the PlayStation Partners service, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced they would not use the names PlayStation Network and PSN anymore come Fall 2026. "To simplify and unify branding" the decision is made, the mail states, going further: "To properly capture the breadth of our evolving digital services".

No service function in and of itself will be affected or changed, just the naming of the services.

Sony has not as of yet announced what the new name and branding for its online services will be.
