The survival-crafting game Soulmask, developed by CampFire Studio and Qooland Games in Singapore, has recently left Early Access. To celebrate this, they are offering an unusual promotion. The Shifting Sands expansion, set in ancient Egypt, will be available for free for one month to anyone who purchases the game. From 10 May 2026, the Shifting Sands DLC will be available to purchase separately for $19.99 / £16.99 / €19.99. Soulmask 1.0 was released on 10 April on Steam and the Epic Games Store at the same price as during its Early Access phase: $29.99 / £26.99 / €29.99. During Early Access, the game had already amassed over 800,000 players.

Soulmask is a survival crafting game set in the open worlds of ancient civilisations. Players take on the role of the 'last one', who is blessed with a mysterious mask, and must fight for survival. Starting with nothing, they must explore, build, and recruit tribesmen to strengthen their clan and unravel the secrets of these ancient civilisations. The game is similar to Conan Exiles or ARK: Survival Evolved (just without the dinosaurs).

Version 1.0 introduces system-level improvements aimed at improving the onboarding process. These include lowering the entry barrier for new players with improved tutorials and early-game pacing. Other updates include the addition of three game modes to cater for different playing styles: Tribe Mode for builders, Survival Mode for purists and Warrior Mode for fighters. There is also an expanded tribesmen (NPC) system offering enhanced management and automation.

Shifting Sands expands the Soulmask universe with a new realm inspired by ancient Egypt. Nearly doubling the size of the game world. There is also new ship-based gameplay. Rather than traditional fixed bases, players can now build and customise their own ships, which serve as mobile homes and fully equipped battle platforms. Later in the game, these can even become flying fortresses. Starting from simple reed-and-wood boats, these vessels can be upgraded gradually with modular components, crew systems and cannons. The expansion introduces four masks themed around Egyptian gods, each granting different abilities and combat styles. Players can jump directly into the new region with a new character and the DLC supports a variety of play styles through solo, co-op and server-based modes.
