The 11th edition of the spielraum gaming fair took place in Dresden last weekend. Spread over two days, the event attracted 18,279 visitors, who had the opportunity to try out a variety of toys, computer games, console games and board games. Spielraum also focuses on prevention, healthy development and education. For the first time this year, the event incorporated the theme of inclusion.

"The increase in visitors, from just over 16,000 in 2024 to over 18,000 this year, and the increase in family tickets (two adults and two children), from 2,526 to 2,917, shows that we are on the right track with our consistent focus on offerings for families with children between the ages of three and 12. Another indication of spielraum's popularity is the clear increase in weekend tickets sold compared to 2024," says Markus Kluge, Managing Director of Messe Dresden.

Michael Wegner, the managing director of planetlan GmbH (Games for Families), drew the following conclusion about the fair: "Spielraum 2025 was a record-breaking event for Games for Families in every respect: an increase in visitor numbers to our 3,000 square metres of exhibition space, a new record for participation by brands from the gaming industry, and the highest sales in the event shop in eleven years at spielraum. We exceeded the previous year's results on the very first day of the trade fair - an extraordinary signal for spielraum, B2C trade fairs, and the strong demand for analogue games, toys, and digital innovations. The combination of brand diversity, family audiences and high consumer confidence has demonstrated impressively that spielraum at Messe Dresden has long since become a must-attend event for visitors and exhibitors alike. This opportunity to touch, try, and experience is only available once a year."

The next spielraum will take place on 07 and 08 November 2026.
