Berlin-based Stratosphere Games has received €400,249 in direct project funding from the German Federal Games Funding Programme for Project Steel (WT). The funding period runs from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026. This is the company's fifth grant. Previously, it got €171,976 for Project MiniCiv, €1,020,028 for Project MiniCiv 2020, €364,712 for Project Colonies and €1,099,141 for Project Shade 2022.

Stratosphere Games is game development studio with a team of almost 35 people from 22 countries. The studio was formed by gaming veterans from Splash Damage, Wargaming, Huuuge Games, Nexon, Smilegate and Ubisoft. Stratosphere Games collaborates with partners worldwide to deliver MMO games for mobile devices and beyond, supported by its own development architecture, Framework. Titles include The Kingdom: Medieval Tales (mobile), The Desolation (PC), Dawn of Ages (mobile) and Homeworld Mobile (discontinued).
