Der kalifornische Publisher THQ hat einen weltweiten Exklusivdeal für "Warhammer 40.000" mit Games Workshop vereinbart.

THQ hat sich die weltweiten Exklusivrechte an der "Warhammer 40.000"-Marke von Games Workshop bis zum Jahr 2013 gesichert. Mit dem neuen Deal werden die bereits bestehenden Vereinbarungen über Konsolen-, Handheld- und PC-Spiele um die Lizenzen für mobile Geräte und sämtliche Onlinerechte - inklusive MMOGs - erweitert.

THQ gab zeitgleich die Entwicklung des ersten MMOGs auf Basis von "Warhammer 40.000" bekannt. Das Game befindet sich derzeit beim texanischen Studio Vigil Games in Arbeit. Zum Arbeitstitel und geplanten Veröffentlichungstermin ist nichts bekannt.
