Der US-Spielzeughändler Toys 'R' Us plant in Folge von Umstrukturierungsmaßnahmen den Abbau von 1900 Arbeitsplätzen und die Aufgabe von 64 Geschäften. Im Detail sind nach einem Bericht von Reuters 27 Filialen von Toys 'R' Us und 37 von Kids 'R' Us in den USA betroffen. Aufgrund dieser Maßnahmen rechnet die Handelskette im 4. Quartal mit Sonderposten in Höhe von 126 Mio. Dollar. Derzeit verfügt Toys 'R' Us über ein weltweites Netz von 1609 Läden, davon 703 in den USA.
