In May 2026, three games received game Sales Awards from game - the German Games Industry Association in recognition of their sales success in Germany.

Two of the awards went to Nintendo. One was a Platinum Award for selling more than 200,000 copies of the life simulation game Tomodachi Life: Wo Träume wahr werden (Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream), which was released for the Nintendo Switch on 16 April 2026. The other was a Gold Award for sales of over 100,000 of Pokémon Pokopia, released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 in early March 2026.

Microsoft/Xbox also received a Gold Award for Forza Horizon 6, which was released on 19 May 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

In April last year, the association presented one gold award to Elden Ring Nightreign from FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment.

The game Sales Award is presented by game, the German Games Industry Association, to recognise the best-selling computer and video games in Germany. It is based on the latest sales figures from Video Games Europe's industry panel, GSD (Game Sales Data). Titles that sell more than 100,000, 200,000, 400,000 or 600,000 copies across all platforms in Germany within the first 12 months of release are eligible for a game Sales Award in the Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum or Multi-Platinum categories.
