Popular games from recent years dominate the January 2026 charts at the start of the new year. EA Sports FC 26, which topped the charts last month, remains in first place. It is followed by two games from Rockstar: Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Five titles are making a comeback in the charts: EA Sports UFC 5, A Way Out, Fallout 4, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Star Wars Battlefront II. Fallout has benefited from the second season of the Amazon Prime series. A similar trend is evident with Ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which rises from 13th to 6th place thanks to the release of the third film in the franchise. There are no new entries in the charts.

Nine of the top 20 games are published Electronic Arts (three of which are from Hazelight Studios), three are from Ubisoft and two are from Rockstar Games. Incidentally, there are no Nintendo titles in the top 20, partly because digital sales from the Nintendo eShop are not included. ARC Raiders is also not represented in the charts because Embark Studios does not report sales figures to GSD.
