Collective Around Gambit Digital Buys Fae Farm IP
Gambit Digital, Game Cloud Network, Pure Wonder Interactive and Phatty Acid have acquired Fae Farm from Phoenix Labs, along with the existing game and ongoing intellectual property rights.
The collective, comprising Gambit Digital, Game Cloud Network, Pure Wonder Interactive and Phatty Acid, will work together to foster "long-term growth". Gambit Digital will serve as the publisher of record for Fae Farm going forward.
Pascal Nataf, Co-Founder of Gambit Digital (part of Montreal's Indie Asylum), added: "Fae Farm has captured the hearts of players around the world, and we're honored to help guide its next chapter. As a studio rooted in Canada, we're especially proud that this partnership will ensure Fae Farm remains a Canadian IP, one that continues to celebrate its community while staying true to the spirit that made Azoria so special in the first place."
Originally developed and published by Phoenix Labs (also known for Dauntless), Fae Farm was launched in September 2023 and now has more than 500,000 players across all platforms. "The new ownership team is thrilled to collaborate closely with this passionate community, ensuring the enchanting online experience continues to flourish," promises the new collective.
The game's multiplayer mode was recently discontinued. The Steam page now only mentions single-player mode, even though the brief description still refers to it as "a farm sim RPG for 1-4 players". Phoenix Labs laid off the majority of its employees at the beginning of the year.
