Der Discounter will in Großbritannien sein Filialnetz von derzeit 278 auf 450 Geschäfte in fünf Jahren mit massiven Investitionen ausbauen.

Discounter Aldi will sein Filialnetz in Großbritannien ausbauen. Wie die "Financial Times Europe" berichtet, will das Handelsunternehmen in den nächsten fünf bis sieben Jahren mehr als 710 Mio. Euro investieren und bis zu 200 neue Outlets in Großbritannien errichten. In diesem Monat öffnete ein Distributionszentrum in Schottland, das es erlaubt, im Norden weiter zu expandieren. Derzeit unterhält Aldi dort nur 19 Filialen, in ganz Großbritannien aber sind es 278.

In den nächsten fünf Jahren strebt Aldi 450 Geschäfte an, langfristig sogar bis zu 1500. Bislang beträgt der Anteil des Unternehmens am britischen Lebensmittelmarkt ein Prozent. Mitbewerber Lidl ist dort zurzeit mit 380 Outlets präsent.
