Two games made in Germany made it onto the list of new releases for PlayStation Plus subscribers in June. This is a welcomed boost for developers and publishers, with a sequel and DLC announced at the same time.

The subscription services offered by the platform manufacturers are not only a lucrative source of revenue for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft, but also a lucrative marketing stage for developers and publishers. Especially as not every game is included in the catalogue. In addition to the direct income, the manufacturers are also rewarded with attention thanks to the large user base. And in June, two German productions can look forward to this attention.

June new releases for PlayStation Plus subscribers include Anno 1800 from Ubisoft Blue Byte/Ubisoft and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers from Aesir Interactive/Astragon. Both titles are available to members of the two higher tiers, Extra and Premium, but not to PlayStation Plus Essentials members. PlayStation Plus Essentials subscribers are limited to three titles per month, currently SpongeBob Schwammkopf: The Cosmic Shake, AEW: Fight Forever and Streets of Rage 4.

The marketing boost is doubly welcome for the publishers, as they often announce or launch new products in parallel with the marketing. That is no different in this case. Ubisoft announced the sequel to Anno 117: Pax Roma on 10 June, while Aesir Interactive/Astragon released the DLC "Police Simulator: Highway Patrol Expansion" on 18 June.
