Games Ground 2025 Expands to Four Days
Games Ground will return for its third edition in 2025. Following a successful event in 2024 with 4,500 attendees, the festival will expand to four days of gaming, networking and industry insights, taking place from 13 to 16 November 2025 at the Alte Münze in Berlin.
Games Ground 2025 is expanding. Formerly known as "Business Ground," the "Business Days" (13-14 November) will feature an expanded program of talks, panels, networking opportunities, and workshops with a stronger focus on the craft of game development, balancing insights into business, community, publishing, and industry growth. "Key Games Ground initiatives like Publisher Connect, Mentor Ground, and Career Ground will offer matchmaking, mentorship, and career-building opportunities," the organizers say. "Networking mixers, side events and the Meet To Match platform will further strengthen industry connections." International participation is expected to grow this year.
The Indie Showcase & Awards will also be upgraded to include a streaming booth, a dedicated Steam sales event, pitch competitions, and an Indie Awards ceremony.
In 2025, the "Public Days", formerly known as "Play Ground", will take place 15-16 November. The event will feature esports tournaments, the GG Cosplay Contest, indie game showcases, influencer content, live music, and a greatly expanded exhibition area, including XR experiences, retro gaming, tabletop zones, a LAN area, and more.
In addition, Games Ground is expanding its global reach through a new international partnership with London Games Festival 2025, where two selected indie studios will represent Berlin's gaming scene as part of New Game Plus. A jury consisting of André Bernhardt (Independent Advisor) and Leonie Wolff (Associate Art Director Maschinen-Mensch and Freelance 3D Artist/Animator) selected two indie studios to represent the Berlin gaming scene at New Game Plus. These studios are Aldamami Games and Bold Beetle Games. "We are incredibly excited about this partnership and grateful for the chance to collaborate with London Games Festival. It marks a significant step in Games Ground's mission to connect Berlin's gaming industry with the global scene and offer indie developers new opportunities for international visibility," the Games Ground organizers say.
