Der Münsteraner E-Tailer buch.de hat die Marken- und Domainrechte sowie den Kundenstamm des österreichischen Onlineshops lion.cc von MC Retail erworben. lion.cc verkauft neben Büchern auch DVDs, CDs und Games. Durch die Übernahme des Onlineshops will buch.de sein Umsatzvolumen in Österreich erhöhen. "lion.cc ist eine in Österreich bekannte Marke, die ihren Kunden attraktives Onlineshopping geboten hat. Mit unserem Know-how können wir dieses Internetangebot auf ein neues Level heben und zu einem konkurrenzfähigen Buch- und Medienportal ausbauen", so buch.de-Vorstandssprecher Albert Hirsch. Mit lion.cc betreibt buch.de neben bol.at und amadeusbuch.at jetzt drei Onlineshops in Österreich und sieht damit seine Position als zweitgrößter Onlinemedienhändler im deutschsprachigen Raum gefestigt.
