Nach Sony und Lions Gate wird auch Buena Vista Filmtitel für die so genannte Universal Media Disc (UMD) veröffentlichen. Zu den auf der PlayStation Portable abspielbaren Mini-DVDs gehören zum Beispiel "Fluch der Karibik" und "Hero".

Buena Vista Home Entertainment (BVHE) hat Filmtitel für das auf der neuen PlayStation Portable (PSP) abspielbare Format Universal Media Disc (UMD) angekündigt. Wie Bob Chapek, Präsident BVHE mitteilt, werden in diesem Frühjahr "Das Vermächtnis der Tempelritter", "Fluch der Karibik", "Die Herrschaft des Feuers", "Kill Bill Vol. 1" und "Hero" in den USA und Kanada als UMD erhältlich sein. Weitere Titel seien im Laufe des Jahres geplant.

Filme auf UMD wurden bereits von PSP-Entwickler Sony und dem Indie Lions Gate Home Entertainment angekündigt.
