Reinhard Gratl, CFO of the Plaion Group, is leaving the company in June after almost 30 years. As reported by the local news service ‘MeinBezirk’, Gratl made the announcement at a works meeting called at short notice.

There has not yet been an official press release from Plaion or its parent company Embracer. There is also no information about a possible successor to Reinhard Gratl, previously CFO of Plaion.

The regional news service MeinBezirk reports that Gratl announced his plans at a works meeting organised at short notice. According to the report, he intends to leave in the course of June and set up his own consultancy business.

According to 'MeinBezirk', Gratl believes Plaion is in a good position. The company employs 2,236 people worldwide, around ten per cent of whom work at its headquarters in Höfen, Austria. Turnover has grown by an average of almost 14 per cent in recent years to around 700 million euros.

However, the magazine also quotes Gratl as saying that there had been ‘quite different views and assessments’ with the Embracer Group's top management on strategic issues. However, this was not the decisive factor. The decision was also made in agreement with Lars Wingefors. For Plaion, however, this is the second personnel change in a very short space of time. Company founder and long-standing CEO Dr Klemens Kundratitz stepped down in April as announced in January and handed over the reins to Phil Rogers.

Following the departure of Kundratitz and the imminent departure of Dr Reinhard Gratl, the only top manager from the Koch Media era to remain on board Plaion is Stefan Kapelari. Kapelari is CEO of Plaion Pictures, Plaion's successful film division.
