To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its gaming education programme, the SAE Institute has awarded three scholarships to emerging game artists. Following a competitive application process, Melanie Amon-Schwarz, Elias Beisel, and Isabella Janzen have been named as this year’s scholarship recipients.

Since 2004, the SAE Institute has been training young talent in game development across Germany. As one of the country’s longest-established private educational institutions in the field, after the pioneering Games Academy, it has now used its anniversary as an occasion to launch the Heart of Art scholarship initiative.

The application phase for the scholarships in the Game Art & 3D Animation department, one of SAE’s largest disciplines, began in December. Ultimately, the jury was won over by the submissions of Melanie Amon-Schwarz, Elias Beisel, and Isabella Janzen. Melanie will be studying at the Vienna campus, Elias at the Bochum campus, and Isabella at the Nuremberg campus.

"There was huge interest in our scholarships, and we were overwhelmed by the high quality of the submissions. After an intensive selection process, Elias, Isabella, and Melanie were chosen. We are delighted to welcome them to the SAE family and wish them an enriching academic experience and a successful start to their careers," said Stephanie Kleist, Head of Game Art & 3D Animation at SAE Institute Nuremberg and a member of the jury.

Founded in Australia in the 1970s, SAE Institute has since grown into a global education network with over 50 institutes in more than 20 countries, offering a broad range of programmes in film, music, and game production. In Europe, it is part of the AD Education group, while institutes outside Europe operate under Navitas. In Germany, SAE Institute has an especially strong presence, with campuses in Berlin, Bochum, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart. In Austria, SAE is based in Vienna, while Switzerland hosts two campuses in Zurich and Geneva.
