Electronic Arts (EA) führte 2006 den britischen Markt für Computer- und Videospiele mit deutlichem Vorsprung an. Aktuellen Chart-Track-Daten zufolge brachte es der kalifornische Major im vergangenen Jahr auf ganze 21 Prozent Marktanteil im britischen Markt. Nach Umsatz bedeutete dies für EA ein Ergebnis von 194,9 Mio. US-Dollar. Die ambitionierte Arbeit der vergangenen Monate zahlte sich indes für THQ Entertainment aus, das überraschend auf dem zweiten Platz landete. 87,2 Mio. US-Dollar Jahresumsatz bedeuteten 9,3 Prozent Marktanteil. Auf dem dritten Rang mit 9,09 Prozent Marktanteil und einem Jahresumsatz von 84,5 Mio. Dollar kam Nintendo ins Ziel.

Erst auf den Plätzen vier bis sechs landeten Branchengrößen wie Ubisoft (71,4 Mio. Dollar Umsatz; 7,69 Prozent Marktanteil), Sony Computer Entertainment (70 Mio.; 7,52%) und Take 2 (56,8 Mio.; 6,1%).
