First Look at Gamescom LAN 2025
Creator heavyweights such as MckyTV, NoWay4u_Sir and HandOfBlood have announced their attendance at gamescom LAN 2025. In addition, the Trading Card Game & Fighting Games area will be expanded and esports tournaments with up to €32,000 in prize money will be held. The Press Play B2B event will run in parallel.
The second gamescom LAN will take place in Cologne from 21 to 23 February 2025, organised by TaKeTV and MYI Entertainment. The gaming event promises a mix of creator engagements, esports tournaments, trading card games, fighting games, community activities and B2B networking. The following creators are already confirmed as partners: MckyTV, NoWay4u_Sir, Bonjwa, BIG Clan, Rocket Beans & Friends (including Nils Bomhoff, Michael 'Krogi' Krogmann and Dennsen86), Eintracht Spandau & Friends (including HandOfBlood, Maxim, Sterzik and Eintracht Spandau) and Fokus Clan.
Due to the popularity and the overlap in audience between trading card games (TCG) and fighting games, gamescom LAN 2025 will feature a separate TCG & Fighting Games area, including a dedicated hall. Visitors will be able to purchase separate tickets for this area, with early bird tickets for fighting games already sold out. The LAN ticket will still give visitors access to all areas. Three major TCG tournaments have been confirmed so far: Locarna (supported by Ravensburger), Magic: The Gathering (supported by Wizards of the Coast) and Star Wars Unlimited (supported by Blackfire). In addition to the tournaments, visitors will be able to have their cards graded by Absolute Objective Grading, purchase new booster packs, and try out various TCGs.
The finals of the Bandai Namco-hosted European Tekken Cup 3, with a €32,000 prize pool, will also take place at gamescom LAN 2025. Up to 256 participants will compete, with only the top two advancing to the finals on Saturday and Sunday, where they will face off against the top 18 players from across Europe. In total, there will be over 25 tournaments, including the Last Chance Qualifier for the Teamfight Tactics EMEA Regional Finals with a €13,000 prize pool, a Rainbow Six Siege tournament sponsored by Ubisoft with a €3,000 prize pool, and a League of Legends tournament hosted by NoWay4u_Sir.
Finally, there will be a B2B event. Called 'Press Play', it will feature panels, talks and networking opportunities for industry experts and organisations. The aim is to exchange ideas on the latest developments in the gaming and esports industry. TaKeTV and MYI Entertainment will announce more details in the coming weeks.
