At the Red Bull Tetris finale yesterday at Game City Vienna, veterinarian Florian Schriebl won the Austrian finals. He'll be competing at the Dubai world finale in December against 55 other finalists from all over the world.

The Austrian national final of Red Bull Tetris took place at Game City in Vienna on Sunday, 12 October. Winning the tournament on the stage was 31 year old Florian Schriebl from Breitenschützing in Upper Austria. The top five online qualifiers and the two best players who qualified live on site competed in the final at Game City.

As Austria's best Tetris player, Schriebl will compete against finalists from 55 countries worldwide in the finale in Dubai. The best players from all over the world will face off in the Red Bull Tetris World Finals there from December 11 to 13. The catch: The world final tetris will be played on a drone arrangement in the sky.

“It still feels very surreal to me to have prevailed against so many great players and to be competing for Austria in the world finals soon,” said Schriebl. He had only been playing Tetris on the Super Nintendo since 2020 and qualified via an Ö3 wild card after discovering the tournament by chance and scoring over 360,000 points. A trained veterinarian, he currently works as a chemical process engineer.
