This year, another German federal state, Hesse, is organising a joint booth in the business area of gamescom. In 2024, only studios were supported in making an appearance at the Indie Arena Booth.

Not only does the number of international country pavilions at gamescom 2025 continue to rise, now, with Hesse, another German federal state is organising its own joint stand in the business area of gamescom. This is being implemented by the Kreativwirtschaft Hessen business agency on behalf of the Hessian Ministry of Economics. The office is working together with game Hessen, Hessen Film & Medien, Eintracht Frankfurt Esports, the Frankfurter Buchmesse, the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, and the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Independent companies from Hesse can still apply until 23 April for one of the limited but highly subsidised places for smaller companies. A jury consisting of the partners will decide on the selection of companies. Established companies can contact the Hessen Creative Industries Office directly to receive information about how larger companies can participate.

Many years ago, Hesse had a small presence in the business area of gamescom. In recent years, like other federal states, it has limited itself to enabling indie teams to participate in community stands such as the Indie Arena Booth.
