After the first teaser, it is now confirmed when and where the GermanDevDays will take place in August. The call for papers is now open.

The sixth GDD - GermanDevDays conference will take place on the 7 and 8 of August, once again at the Saalbau Gallus in Frankfurt am Main. In the first years the event was held in May, last year in June and now in August.

"I am delighted that we are able to continue the GDD this year, albeit a little later in the year," says Stefan Marcinek, CEO of Assemble and organiser of GermanDevDays. "With the sixth GDD we will once again cover a colourful bouquet of flowers, in some cases a tasty potpourri, of different topics in the lectures, panels and workshops."

The conference is free for students, trainees, teachers and lecturers. Tickets for business visitors cost 149.00 Euros (plus VAT), and workshops cost 10 Euros (plus VAT). Registration and a first draft of the programme will be available online in the coming weeks. Anyone wishing to propose talks, panels or workshops can use the online form. Be it game design, coding, audio, art, marketing or anything else. "Whether serious or less serious and therefore more wacky - everything is allowed," say the GDD organisers. Presentations last 45 minutes, panels 60 minutes and workshops 180 minutes.

GDD is a developer conference focused on the German market. It is characterised by a limited number of participants, an unusual selection of topics by mostly experienced German industry experts, free places for indie teams and a humorous awards scheme, including the "Best Biberkacke" (Best Beaver Poop) award, a nod to Hollywood's Golden Raspberry.
