The key points for the funding of games by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection will be presented at the next #gamechanger talk. Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary for Games, will provide an overview of the proposals for the key points of the new funding guidelines.

While a ban on applications for games funding has been in place since May 2023, the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is working on a new funding guideline. This will regulate how games funding can be provided from 2025 onwards.

The next #gamechanger talk organised by game - the German Games Industry Association will focus on the changes that games companies may face. On Wednesday, 17 April 2024 from 15:00 on game's Twitch channel, Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary for Games, will give an overview of the proposals for the key points of the BMWK's new funding guidelines. The main ideas for change will be presented and discussed in a conversation with game managing director Felix Falk.

The #gamechanger talk can be watched on the game's Twitch channel without registering or logging in. Viewers will be able to chat into the debate. Previous #gamechanger talks have featured Saskia Esken (SPD), Christian Lindner (FDP), Dorothee Bär (CSU), Nathanael Liminski (CDU) and Ricarda Lang (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen).
