Under the motto 'Heart for Art', the SAE Institute is offering three scholarships to aspiring game artists in GSA. The scholarships will cover all tuition fees for the Game Art & 3D Animation course, and students will graduate with an SAE diploma. With these scholarships, the media school celebrates 20 years of teaching game development.

The 'Heart for Art' scholarships for the SAE Diploma in Game Art & 3D Animation have a standard duration of 18 months and teach the most important basics. This can be followed by various Bachelor's and Master's programmes. The game artist training is offered at SAE's locations in Berlin, Bochum, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Vienna. Applications are now being accepted until 19 January 2025. The selection of scholars will take place after this date. The programme starts on 10 March 2025.

"For many years, our graduates have made an important contribution to meeting the demand for skilled workers in the games industry. Our courses also enable graduates to move into related fields where expertise in games and visualisation is in demand. With these scholarships, we are celebrating 20 years of successful education in game development and want to signal to students and the games industry that we will continue to be a reliable education partner in the future," says Chris Müller, Managing Director of the SAE Institute in the GSA region and the Netherlands. The first video game degree programmes at SAE Institute began in 2004 and have continued to evolve. In 2016, the Game Art & 3D Animation department was established, which is now one of the largest divisions at the private educational institution.

The application process: Applicants should submit a short video or letter of motivation introducing themselves, explaining why they want to study Game Art & 3D Animation and at which SAE Institute. They may also include creative work such as initial artwork or animations (2D/3D) with their application. After the application deadline, all applications will be reviewed by a panel of faculty members from various SAE locations. Those who make the shortlist will be invited for an interview on the SAE campus. The jury will then select the three scholars. Applications can be submitted online.
