Dennis Korf to Become New Managing Director of Wooga
Dennis Korf will take over as Managing Director of Wooga from January 2025. He will succeed Nai Chang in this role. Under Chang's leadership, the Berlin-based games company broke the billion-dollar revenue mark last year with June's Journey.
Wooga will have a new Managing Director from 1 January 2025: Dennis Korf will take over from Nai Chang. Korf joins from Playtika and is currently General Manager of Dutch game developer Youda Games. Wooga is also part of Playtika. Previously, Korf was Flash Developer and Game Developer at I Sioux, Chief Technology Officer at Youda Games and Product Owner and Director for Social Casino Poker brands at Azerion.
Nai Chang has been at the helm of Wooga for five years. In an interview with GamesMarkt a year ago, Chang said of his work: "One of the most important changes I focused on when I joined the company was how we could complement the whole business and create the conditions to run world-class games". For Chang, it is important that a successful game lasts not just three or four years, but ten or more. The aim is to create a long-running success, or evergreen, from a larger collection of projects that will then continue to grow. Wooga's hit in question is the hidden object crime mystery game June's Journey, which broke the billion-dollar sales barrier last year. "We have achieved this by investing more in our teams in terms of people, resources and marketing. This has enabled them to develop the product, reach new audiences and increase the number of users." At the same time, the success has given them a solid financial base to grow the business sustainably. "This is one of the biggest changes we've made," says Chang, who, before becoming Wooga's Managing Director, worked at Google as Global Head of Games - Growth Consulting, General Manager at Zynga San Diego, General Manager at NaturalMotion and Vice President at Buffalo Studios, which was later acquired by Playtika. It is not yet clear what Chang will be doing after his time at Wooga.
