In its first funding round of the year, the MBB's new media funding programme is supporting 28 projects in the areas of games, XR experiences and serial formats with €4.8 million. Ten games projects will receive €1.425 million and five XR projects will receive €660,000.

A total of ten games projects are being funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg's New Media Funding programme in the first round of the year. €300,000 will go to "Oh Apollo" by btf. The game mixes Greek mythology with aspects of pop culture to create a coming-of-age story. ByteRockers' Games will receive €250,000 for "P.I.O.N.E.E.R". In this sci-fi game, players mine valuable resources on asteroids and try to bring them back to the spaceship. Fake Lobster will receive €180,000 for "Shellbound - A Mucus Tale", a metroidvania on a giant snail.

Among the XR projects, UFA Serial Drama will receive €200,000 for the life-simulation RPG "The Kingdom: Medieval Tales". In "Better City Challenge" from Vincent Productions players can build an own "Kiez" (neighbourhood). In addition, 13 serial formats will receive €2.713 million in funding, including €1.5 million for Spreewaldklinik - Season 2.
