In 2026, participants will compete against each other in five games — League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, Valorant and eFootball — to qualify for the grand final. Registration is now open. The deadline to register for each event is one working day before the corresponding online qualifying cup. The state championships will take place on 4 and 5 July 2026 at Holstenhallen in Neumünster. There, the best participants from the qualifying phase will compete for state championship titles.

For the first time, the final weekend will be organised under the 'Newgame' umbrella brand. As well as the final matches, there will be additional programme elements focusing on gaming culture, including cosplay, gaming activities, and trading card games.

Daniela Stahl, a board member of the Schleswig-Holstein Esports Association and project manager for the State Championships, says: "Every year, the State Esports Championships demonstrate just how much the community in Schleswig-Holstein has grown. We look forward to bringing players from across the state together again in 2026 and providing them with a platform to compete."

Organised by the Schleswig-Holstein Esports Association, the State Championships have become an integral part of the regional gaming and esports scene in recent years. In 2025, 168 players took part in the qualifying tournaments. Around 1,800 spectators attended the State Final at the Holstenhallen in Neumünster.
