All Announcements From the Triple-i Initiative
The Triple-i Initiative returned for its second edition with 36 announcements - world premieres, gameplay reveals, demos and release date announcements. Mooneye Studios, Toukana Interactive, tobspr Games, Super Fantasy Games, THQ Nordic, Egosoft, Screen Juice and Keen Games from GSA took part.
At the second Triple-i Initiative, over 30 games were presented and updates announced in just under 45 minutes. From GSA, Mooneye Studios (Ikuma - The Frozen Compass), Toukana Interactive and kurzgesagt (Star Birds), tobspr Games (shapez 2), Super Fantasy Games (Super Fantasy Kingdom), THQ Nordic (The Eternal Life of Goldman), Egosoft (X4: Foundations), Screen Juice (Morbid Metal) and Keen Games (Enshrouded) were present.
Mooneye Studios has announced Ikuma - The Frozen Compass, due for release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In this narrative adventure, players will embark on a haunting journey into the cold - either alone or with a friend. Ikuma tells the story of Sam, a teenage boy who finds himself stranded in the Arctic with his dog. Together, they must work together to survive.
Star Birds, the cheerful asteroid base-builder for fans of automation and building games, is getting a public demo this June. The game is being developed by Toukana Interactive, creators of the indie hit Dorfromantik, in collaboration with the YouTube channel kurzgesagt - in a nutshell. The announcement took the form of a demo teaser during the show, as well as a 20-minute after-show segment that gave a sneak peek at the gameplay. The game is expected to go into Early Access in 2025.
tobspr Games has announced The Dimension Update for shapez 2, which will bring multi-layered 3D factory construction, revamped train mechanics and various quality of life improvements. The update will be released on 2 June.
Super Fantasy Games (Hannover) continues to build up Super Fantasy Kingdom, with the Human Kingdom and the Undead Kingdom demonstrating the asymmetry of this roguelite city builder. Published by Hooded Horse, the game is scheduled for release in Q3 2025.
THQ Nordic has confirmed the roster of music composers for The Eternal Life of Goldman, which is being developed by Weappy Studio. They are Kevin Penkin (Star Wars: Vision, Made in Abyss, Florence), Mason Lieberman (Overwatch 2, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, League of Legends: Wild Rift), Pete Lepley (Wargroove, Sky Rogue) and Yasunori Nishiki (Octopath Traveler, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth). The game will be released in 2025.
Egosoft is planning to release a free diplomacy update for X4: Foundations in the summer of 2025. This update will introduce new strategic elements that will allow players to engage in diplomacy in many new ways.
Morbid Metal, a hack-and-slash action roguelite from Cologne-based Screen Juice, will be published by Ubisoft. The game will be released in Early Access on Steam in summer 2025. Speaking of Ubisoft: Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era will be released on Steam Early Access in summer 2025.
With more than four million players of Enshrouded, Keen Games has unveiled the next content update: Thralls of Twilight.
11 bit studios (Poland) will release The Alters on 13 June 2025. It is an emotional sci-fi game with a unique blend of survival, adventure and base-building elements. It follows Jan Dolski, the sole survivor of an ill-fated space expedition, who creates alternate versions of himself to escape a hostile planet and deal with personal turmoil. Digital Sun (Spain) and 11 bit studios are also releasing Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault in Early Access this summer.
As well as showcasing Super Fantasy Kingdom, Hooded Horse also announced the Early Access release date for Blacksmith Master. From 15 May 2025, players will be able to manage their own medieval smithy. The game is being developed by Untitled Studio. The third title from the US publisher specialising in strategy games was Endless Legend 2. The fantasy 4X strategy game from French studio Amplitude Studios is scheduled for Early Access in summer 2025.
Ghost Ship Games has released a closed alpha gameplay trailer for Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, a spin-off from Deep Rock Galactic with a roguelite twist. Rogue Core will be released in Early Access later this year. Speaking of the franchise and dwarves: Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor 1.0 (Funday Games / Ghost Ship Publishing) will be released on 17 September 2025.
Fair Play Labs (Costa Rica) and tinyBuild have announced SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, coming to Steam in 2025 and consoles in 2026. The game is a competitive platformer.
Neverway, a nightmarish life-sim RPG, is the debut game from Coldblood, a studio co-founded by the pixel artist behind Celeste and TowerFall, and features an original soundtrack by Disasterpeace.
Shiro Unlimited (Northgard, Wartales, Dune: Spice Wars) is teaming up with developer FakeFish (Barotrauma) for Frostrail, an open-world first-person shooter survival game (reminiscent of Snowpiercer) coming to Steam Early Access for Windows PC in 2026.
Void/Breaker from Stubby Games (UK) and Playstack, a roguelite FPS. It is a solo project from developer Daniel Stubbington (Stubby Games) following his Portal-inspired puzzle game The Entropy Centre (2022).
The Katana Zero DLC (Askiisoft and Devolver Digital) is still on the way.
Square Glade Games will launch the closed alpha of Outbound (open world exploration) on 14 April.
Rematch (Sloclap & Kepler Interactive), a fast-paced 5v5 third-person football game, will be released on 19 June.
Fireshine Games has revealed gameplay footage from Duskfade (Weird Beluga Studio, Spain), a 3D action platformer coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam in 2026.
Starward Industries (Poland) showcased the first gameplay of Into the Fire, a disaster extraction survival game with arcade elements that will launch on Steam Early Access later this year.
Paper Cult (Canada) has released a new gameplay trailer for Tears of Metal. A public beta of the hack-and-slash roguelike is running on Steam until 17 April.
The free Emerald Diorama expansion has been released for Vampire Survivors (poncle). The expansion is based on Square Enix's SaGa franchise.
A demo of Escape Simulator 2 has been released by Pine Studio.
Panik Arcade (Italy) and Future Friends Games have announced CloverPit, a roguelite demonic lovechild of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette. CloverPit will be released on PC via Steam later this year, but a demo is already available.
91Act announced couch co-op and a Dead Cells character for BlazBlue Entropy Effect.
Funselektor and Strelka Games have unveiled the first over the hill gameplay trailer. The upcoming ambient off-road exploration game from the developers of art of rally already has over 200,000 wishlists on Steam. A playtest has also been announced.
Trioskaz and Critical Reflex will release the horror game No, I'm not a Human in fall 2025.
Fair Games (Denmark) shadow dropped Necesse's The Forgotten Depths update and plans to release 1.0 in 2025.
V Rising - Invaders of Oakveil (Stunlock Studios) will be released on 28 April.

In Q1 2026, Pixelated Milk (Poland) will release the RPG SacriFire.
Mechanistry (Poland) will bring modular urban transport to their beaver settlements with the seventh update Ziplines & Tubeways for Timberborn on 8 May.
