On 17 September 2026, The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 was released on Early Access at a price of €29.99, but with a launch discount of 34%, the price dropped below €20. Until July, the game was called Die Gilde – Europa 1410 / The Guild: Europe 1410, but changing the name to include 'Remake' is intended to make it clearer that this is the spiritual successor to the original Die Gilde, rather than a new spin-off focusing on life simulation like Die Gilde 2 or 3.

The Guild 1 Remake: Europe 1410 builds on the economic focus of the original Guild game, demanding business strategies, dynasty management, entrepreneurship and political calculation. All of these are managed from a strategic bird's-eye view rather than through direct control of individual characters. The focus is on decisions that have a lasting impact on business, dynasty and the city where the family resides. In the game, players manage and expand workshops, hire workers and build a medieval business empire in the game.

A Europa 1410 campaign can span multiple generations, so the character with which a campaign is ended will probably not be the same character with which it was started. Therefore, it is important to court, marry and produce heirs to secure one's legacy. Additionally, it's possible to apply for offices and climb the social ladder by befriending, blackmailing, or bribing important citizens. And here's a treat for fans of the original German-language version: Aart Veder, the narrator from the original Guild game, has returned to lend his voice to the German version of The Guild 1 Remake: Europe 1410.

The game was originally scheduled for Early Access release in July, but this was postponed due to the success of the demo, which attracted a lot of feedback. According to THQ Nordic, the demo was played by tens of thousands of people during Steam Next Fest, ranking 25th amongst the most-played titles out of more than 4,000 available demos. Planned improvements include a new map to serve as a tutorial area, UI enhancements (including automation options for recurring tasks), improved animations, and support for additional languages.

At its Early Access launch, the game features six cities (Graz, Kuttenberg, Nuremberg, Freiburg, Wrocław and the tutorial town of Landsfort Herle), eight professions (Smith, Tailor, Joiner, Stonemason, Priest, Innkeeper, Alchemist and Perfumer) and two languages (German and English), with more to follow, including French, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Simplified Chinese and Russian.

Throughout the Early Access period, Ashborne Games and THQ Nordic will regularly update the game. These updates will add new content and expand existing features, while also improving stability and addressing bugs and imbalances. Plans for the updates have also been laid out. 'The Stabby Update: Knives and Swords' will focus on combat professions and combat in general. It will introduce the Thief and the Robber, as well as the Guard. Players will be able to equip their characters to patrol the streets, break into other citizens' houses and workplaces, or waylay carts on the city's outskirts. Combat itself, including duels, will also be improved with this update. 'The Backstabby Update: Multiplayer' will introduce multiplayer mode for up to 11 players, complete with rivalries and alliances. This update will also make improvements to the game's economy, making the city's needs a key part of the game. When the game is released as version 1.0, the Moneylender and the Trader will be introduced. The game's release will also include a new map and additional Guild-based gameplay.
