Swiss independent game development studio Axon Flux announces that development of Cactus has been discontinued. At the same time, the two founders, Oliver Leins and Nils Hausfeld, are parting ways amicably.

The challenges of continuing the project in its current form proved insurmountable in the studio's current circumstances. The workload would have been too great, and Axon Flux is currently unable to expand further in the current economic climate. To ensure that the original vision of Cactus still has a future, the team is currently looking for ways to pass the project on to capable hands.

Axon Flux was founded in 2021 by Oliver Leins and Nils Hausfeld, two former colleagues who met while studying at the Games Academy Berlin. Their ambition has always been to pack big adventures into small games. "Shorter, but better," as Oliver Leins put it. While the discontinuation of Cactus "marks a painful end to this chapter", the team part on good terms.
